Trumpet
The triumphant trumpet! The trumpet was one of the earliest jazz instruments, played by such pioneers of the music as Buddy Bolden, Louis Armstrong and Bix Biderbecke.
Tips:
Teach students how to buzz their lips. See if they can buzz “high” and “low”!
Discuss the use of trumpet mutes and their distinct sounds, from Miles Davis’ Harmon mute to Louis Armstrong’s plunger mute.
